Frequently Asked Questions

How can I get involved?

It’s wonderful to hear you want to join the forest restoration movement! If you’d like to become a partner, please get in touch with us via the contact form or write to customer@tree-peace.org. Don’t forget to share your estimated budget and let us know if you plan a one-time or recurring contribution. Reforestation is a long-term enterprise, and benefits from long-term commitments!

I have a group interested in volunteering. How do I signup and what dates are available?

Tree Peace volunteer events are listed on our website at https://tree-peace.org/pages/individuals However, we are always looking for passionate volunteers to help within our organization. Whether its helping manage our social media accounts or organizing an event in your neighborhood. We need individuals at all levels. Fill out the contact form and we will get in touch.

I am under 18. Can I still volunteer?

All ages are welcome at all of our volunteer events. However, we ask that volunteers under the age of 18 be accompanied by at least one adult.

Can I bring my children?

Yes. All ages are welcome at our volunteer events. We ask that children are accompanied by at least one adult. For very young children, please make sure there is a one adult per two child ratio in your group. Because of the dangers with tools, planting holes, and other hazards in nature, we kindly ask that adults monitor their children at all times during planting events.

I have never planted a tree and have no idea how to care for a tree. Is this an issue?

Not at all! We will teach you! A complete demonstration will be provided at the beginning of each event to showcase the dos and don’ts of tree planting and care techniques. Supervisors will monitor each group to ensure the trees are properly planted and mulched and to answer any of your questions.

What is provided during volunteer events? Do we need to bring anything?

We will provide water, coffee, and light refreshments at each planting event. Plan on wearing long pants and closed-toe shoes, and dress appropriately for the weather, especially if rain is in the forecast. Gloves, tools, and training are provided, but please bring a water bottle, hat, and sunscreen.
